A Short Course in Statistics: What the Numbers Can Tell Us When We Give Them a Chance

John Pfister will be offering a "short course in statistics" for any interested Dartmouth faculty member. We will make our way through descriptive statistics, correlations, normal distributions, probability, and inferences. Participants will learn T-tests, chi square, and 1-way Anova tests; hands-on practice will be key, and Professor Pfister promises that no one will be harmed! Bring laptops, good humor, an appetite (breakfast and lunch will be served), and curiosity.

Sponsored by the Neukom Institute for Computational Science; hosted by the Institute for Writing and Rhetoric. Registration required. DEADLINE FOR REGISTRATION Tuesday, 12/1/09.
