John Pfister will be offering a "short course in statistics" for any interested Dartmouth faculty member. We will make our way through descriptive statistics, correlations, normal distributions, probability, and inferences. Participants will learn T-tests, chi square, and 1-way Anova tests; hands-on practice will be key, and Professor Pfister promises that no one will be harmed! Bring laptops, good humor, an appetite (breakfast and lunch will be served), and curiosity.
Sponsored by the Neukom Institute for Computational Science; hosted by the Institute for Writing and Rhetoric. Registration required. DEADLINE FOR REGISTRATION Tuesday, 12/1/09.
This is a 1/2 day workshop for new or nearly new First-Year Seminar Faculty scheduled to teach in 10 Winter or 10 Spring terms. (Experienced instructors are also welcome to attend.) Registered participants will be sent materials in advance of the workshop.
