Our People

Stewarded by Dartmouth Libraries for many years, Samson Occom's papers and materials were repatriated to the Mohegan Tribe on April 27, 2022.

This important moment in the history of Dartmouth and the Mohegan people recognizes and celebrates not only Samson Occom’s critical role in Dartmouth's establishment but also honors Occom by returning materials to his homeland that have deep spiritual meaning to the Mohegan Tribe.

The day before Robert Frost's 150th birthday, Dartmouth Libraries partnered with Theta Delta Chi Fraternity, Crossroads Academy, and the Dartmouth Department of English & Creative Writing to showcase two events related to the Pulitzer Prize-winning New England poet.

Each December, the Libraries host our Library Staff Appreciation and Awards luncheon and ceremony. This gathering welcomes library staff - current and retired - to celebrate each other and recognize our outstanding achievements and milestones.

Famously quoted, Helen Keller wrote, “Alone we can do so little. Together, we can do so much.” Her words exemplify the collaborative work librarians do with students, faculty, staff, and researchers across Dartmouth and beyond. For two years running, one such collaboration continues to build awareness -  and appetites - for STEM at Dartmouth, National Chemistry Week.
